iRise Online by OneSpring

version 6, now SP2 this week - anyone using this?

I've just downloaded the SP2 for 6.0 but I personally had not run into any specific difficulties using the first version of 6. Anyone care to share what they found?

The only thing that's now tough is that it now doesn't support IE6, just IE 7.

Has anyone else any learnings from the new features on version 6 that you'd like to share?

I am focusing more on RIAs now - hoping that I can create simulations more easily with this new release.

Compatibility issues w/ SP1

If you are contemplating the upgrade from 5.2 to 5.2 SP1 take caution to ensure that you upgrade the server as well. We just updated a 5.2 Studio to SP1 and were not able to access a 5.2 server. This isn’t such an issue if you only have 1 or 2 studios running in an organization; however it’s a major pain for large organizations that have to update dozens of Studios. Since I’ve yet to see Studio deployed in any company by the IT Desktop Support Team using an automated install package, this chore usually falls on the shoulders of some overworked BA or IA who has taken the internal torch to bare and must now guide many non-technical BAs to update their machines.

General Enhancements
• New shortcut for zoom: ctrl + mouse wheel.
• Dragging a Decision widget repositions it on the canvas.
• Dragging a widget around the page with the grid turned on snaps to the grid as you drag.
• Wider project panel max width in Studio, simulation view.
• Full chapter names displayed when you hover over the chapter names in Studio, simulation view.
• Datasheets and Masters copied and pasted cross project match on Master name of replacement.
General Fixes
• Data Tracker no longer affects simulation page layout.
• iRise Studio now works with Placeware / MS Live Meeting.
• iDoc import function correctly assigns default security setting for projects created by import.
• Resolved a rare issue where duplicate “simdata” files were exported to iDoc.
• Adding an alternate view when the grid is turned on no longer snaps the Dynamic View widget to a grid
point.
• You can now use the arrow keys to navigate around a datasheet when multiple cells are currently selected.
• Data flow inputs to actions are properly maintained when copy-pasting between projects.
• Coping and pasting record actions and datasheets between projects maintains datasheet/record label naming
consistency.
• Multi-selecting user input widgets now allows you to simultaneously edit common properties.
• Resolved image widget resize issue in iRise Studio so that resizing image widget along one axis does not
distort the image in iRise Studio.
• Two users can delete folders on the Shared Server at the same time without causing an exception.
• Improved location of imported Comment widgets in iRise Studio so that they no longer appear in the upper
left corner of the canvas.
• Distribute vertically now working as expected.
• Project converted from 3.12 no longer contain navigation and data flow that stretches beyond the reaches
boundaries of the visible canvas.
• Constants that are used for input to Record Actions are no longer deleted when you change the “where”
clause to use the Clipboard record.
• Fixed shared server permissions for delete and rename options on folders and projects.
• Resolved issues with cursor placement in Document Text widgets.
• Masters now work properly with the tab order functionality.
