New series of posts coming

I know the site has been quite lately but trust me it's all due in part to a new venture that I'm pursing, more details coming soon.  Back to the community I'm starting a new series in a couple of weeks pertaining exclusively to iRise 5. The series will include how-tos, new features and integration tips.  I would also like to welcome a new author who has joined the community, Jason Moccia .  Jason will be contributing on topics pertaining to the art of definition and how we use iRise with existing methodologies.

Stay tuned as a new and exciting chapter of simulation is about to unfold.

iRise 5 Tour

iRise has posted an update on their website about the much anticipated release of 5 with iDoc, they include more details about the enhancements as well as a tour showing screenshots of the new studio interface and iDoc portable simulations.  http://www.irise.com/product/overview.htm

Lucid Spec

Elegance Technologies (ET) the makers of Lucid Spec offers a product that advertises to provide screen design, application simulation and GUI descriptions.  I've just downloaded the free trial and will give it a test run to see how it compares or if it does compare to iRise.  Although I'm sure it doesn't compare it is still nice to see that more competition is coming into the market. 

iRise 5 Announced

iRise has officially announced their next version, iRise 5.0 with iDoc.  iDoc in combination with the iDoc Reader is one of just many major enhancements to the platform.  This will provide users with the ability to view simulation without having to connect to an iRise server.  This provides much greater support for portability and review.

The new version will also include much greater support for Scenario based design.  This is a pretty cool feature based on what I saw in the Alpha version. 

Unless they have changed their direction the new Templates feature is simply the old Masters re-branded, I hope they have changed and included what I've been asking for which is pre-built templates in the term of "template flows" or process flows, for example having templates for HR applications or shopping carts or any other common flow for quick modifications. This would greatly increase product adoption due to a lower learning curve and increased time to completion.  However this would directly cut into the profitability of the iRise Services arm, double edge sword I guess.
